- Michael Anderson is the Assistant Director for Course Development and Technology at the University of Texas System TeleCampus which offers more than 400 fully online courses and degree programs from all 15 UT campuses. Prior to that, he worked for twenty years in higher education publishing for Time and NewsCorp, and then helped start VCampus, a publicly-held eLearning company. Like any good academic, he has written articles (in publications such as Info Week and USDLA Review), delivered presentations (for conferences such as EduCause and Macromedia MAX), and conducted workshops (for organizations such as the Getty Institute and the College Board). But building learning applications excites him the most: Emergency Room Psychiatry, an online case-based game for rural healthcare givers (recipient of the Computer World Heroes Laureate); TRACK, the 11th grade TAKS diagnostic/tutorial used by more than 250,000 students (selected for the Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunication Outstanding Work award). He founded The Pawn Review, a Texas literary magazine, and has three kids who teach him every day more about what life means than he ever learned in school.
