I just wanted to send a note to the group to see who might be interested in coming to 3DCAMP Houston, a free conference for 3D professionals in the Houston area. Here is some more info:
What is 3DCAMP Houston?
3DCAMP Houston is a free, informal gathering of people in the Houston area who use any kind of 3D technology in their professional and personal work. The event will be centered around a series of presentations on a variety of topics including game development, 3D
asset management pipelines, architectural visualization, character animation, organic modeling and 3D painting, geophysical imaging, industrial design, and rapid prototyping. Here is a website with more information about the event:

The Schedule
The day will be broken up into 45 minute blocks of time for presentations across three conference rooms at the Houston Technology Center in Midtown, and we expect to have anywhere from 100 to 150 attendees coming and going throughout the day. Breakfast and lunch will be provided as well.
There will also be a number of demos throughout the day, including representatives from HP talking about their latest Z800 high end graphics work station, hooked up to a pair of NVIDIA 3D glasses. Another presenter will be demoing a game he has developed on the Microsoft XNA game studio platform where players guide their character across the projection using a laser pointer. There will also be a raffle at the end of the conference where door prizes will be handed out such as books, training materials, and software licenses.
Who is Invited?
3DCAMP welcomes 3D professionals, software developers, freelance artists, hobbyists, students, and anyone else looking to learn from the 3D community in Houston. If you would like to assist in the promoting the event, become a fan on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. You can also RSVP on our EventBrite page here.
Why is it Called a Camp?
Our event is a community-driven conference in the style of BarCamp. “Camp” implies that the event is informal with an emphasis on face-to-face interaction with other attendees. “Community-driven” means that the attendees of the conference actually run the conference by discussing topics appropriate to the subject of the event.
Sponsorship Opportunities
We are looking for sponsors to help cover the cost of the event including the venue rental, food, and door prizes in the form of software licenses, books, online training materials, and anything else your company might be willing to donate. Please contact info@3dcamphouston.com or call David Morris at 713-502-6543 to become a sponsor of 3DCAMP Houston.
